God is good!

Praise be to God for his mercy and provisions! God has been so good to us over the last 9 months! We can see His mighty hand in everything from loosing our house to moving with a baby at just 6 weeks old to now living with some "extended" family while steven finishes school! God is so good! We couldn't be more blessed!

I last posted in June which feels like forever ago. So much has changed since then! Steven passed his EMT class and has high recommendations from his professors! He graduated #3 getting a 97% in the over all class! After that he took the national registry and passed with an A as well! He is now a licenses/registered EMT! He will be applying for ambulance companies and Fire department AO positions this weekend! After his first rotation in an ambulance he came home and said that he feels God calling him to be a firefighter paramedic! Which is only about 2 years less of school then a doctor! YIKES! I thought to myself, but I could see a passion burning in his eyes, one only the Lord can give! Now we are looking into him going to UCLA starting in the summer of 2010! We are also praying he gets into the academy in the spring. He started his fall semester about 3 weeks ago and is loving it! It is tough right now with sleep for him since we are sharing a room with Noah, so please be praying for that!

Noah is almost 7 months old! I just can't believe it! Its just too fast! He is so active, constantly wanting to go go go! He has (since my last post) started eating baby food, is almost crawling, can sit on his own and has 9 teeth! We have also discovered his LOVE for swimming! We have spent so much quality mommy and me time in grandpa's pool this summer! I pray daily that the Lord grabs a hold of his heart and never lets go!

Things we are looking forward to in the next year!
1. baby Noahs first Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas!
2. Steven getting into the academy!
3. Noah's first birthday!
4. Many of my friends getting married and having babies!
5. Graduating the academy
6. Starting UCLA!
May I write in pencil and have God write in pen!

catching up

So, I haven't been on in while, a long while! I think Tuesday nights after the little man guys to sleep will be my blog night! Steven just started an intensive crash course (8 weeks instead of 18 weeks) in EMT! He had his first test last night and got an A! He needs to get a B over all average or they fail him, yikes! But I guess thats good because we wouldn't want a bunch of C or lower students coming to our houses to save us, right? We are in desperate need of work! The Lord is providing our daily needs but we are starting to get behind! And the last 8 years we have taken pride in never being behind and staying a little a head!

We also celebrated Steven's first father day 3 days ago! We had fun making him breakfast, going to church and relaxing! I am truly the luckiest gal to have such a wonderfully dedicated man as the father of my son!

I am not looking forward to Noah's second set of shots tomorrow! I hate being a mom at times like this! My poor baby looks at me like "why are you letting them do this to me?". I cant stand it! He turned 4 month on saturday and is getting SO big! He has been rolling over and trying to start to crawl! I can't believe it! Time is flying by!

Fire alarm madness!

WOW! Lat night was not fun! At around 11 pm the fire alarm went off in our building! Steven said get your shoes as he ran into grab baby Noah out of his crib. I quickly found my shoes and put the leash on the dog. As we opened the door our entire floor was running towards the elevators and AWAY from the emergency exit! It seemed like we were fishes swimming up stream! As we were walking the opposite way of everyone else I said out loud "WE'RE SUPPOSE TO TAKE THE STAIRS RIGHT?". Then it seemed like everyone turned around a headed for the stairs! Walking down the stairs from the forth flight with a dog and a baby was not fun! And to make it worse the alarm and strobe were SO LOUD AND SO BRIGHT all you wanted to do was fall on the ground and grab your head! It definitely didn't make it easy leaving in an orderly manner. Thank goodness it was just someone burning too many candles and nothing too serious! The interesting thing was that it took the fire department 10 min to get to us! Do you know that a person is brain dead after just 7 min of not breathing? We live just a block and a half from the department! It was shocking! And then to top it off they seemed to be moving really slowly. Well at least they came and checked to make sure everything was ok. It got me thinking about stevens decision to become a fireman. Looking at these heros come to our rescue in the middle of the night got me envisioning him doing that very same thing not too long from now! Wow, Lord please give me strength and peace!

A very blessed church

As I was sitting in church yesterday, listening to our OH so animated youth director preach on what he learned on his first trip to Mexico with our youth, I couldn't help but thank God for how blessed we are as a body. We aren't the biggest or wealthiest (monetarily speaking) church out there but we are so blessed with a tight nit family of christ who genuinely love and care about each other more then anything.  It gave me a sense of peace knowing how loved my son is and how blessed he is to be able to grow up in such a wonderful community of christ. The people that paved the way for us to have the freedom that we do, to be able to freely worship our Lord have my ever grateful thankful heart. The Lord really spoke through Happy (our youth director) in such a mighty way. I couldn't help but think what the youth department will be like in 13 years when my precious baby baby boy is up there being taught by such a God loving man! Thank you Happy for following Gods calling, you are a true blessing! And you better never leave VBC! ;)

owie poowie!

Now I know why there is a special day set aside to honor and adore your mother! After a much too short of a nap my sweet little baby woke up to be fed! while he was feeding he kept looking up at me to smile! I thought oh how sweet you love me! WELL then it happened, his diaper exploded all up his back and all over me!!! After I got him all cleaned up and just about to put his pants back on he got that same little look on his face.....yup he did it again...this time it at least stayed in the diaper. While I was in the process of changing this nasty diaper he then decided it would be a goo time to pee on me, in his mouth on eye!! fearing that he was going to go blind I called my mom to ask if he will be ok. She proceeded to laugh at me and tell me "that there would be many blind men in this world if they would go blind for squirting themselves in the eye!". Thank mom-HAHA!

Wow, this is fun! Now all our family and friends can see what we're up to without having to join any silly website! Well yesterday was Noah's 2 month birthday, man how time flies! We spent the morning at the dr.'s for his well baby check up. Not much fun spending your 2 month birthday getting 4 shots! When we got home he was so traumatized that he spent most of the afternoon sleeping and then most of the evening fussing, poor kid! He is usually the happiest baby ever but yesterday was a little harder then normal. Noah is getting bigger and bigger, cuter  and cuter every day! We are so blessed to have him in our lives, he brings such joy to us each and every day!

Over the last 2 months we have had a baby, moved, steven started school and tobbie had surgery! It has been a couple of months full of relying on Gods power and strength to get us though. Our wonderful church family has been a huge blessing to us in prayer, helping us move, bringing us meals after an unplanned C-section and in much needed monetary gifts! What a blessing to have a family like that in Christ! Well thats all for now! I must nap!
